Generals iced, 7-3.

FOXBORO – It was their first win of the tournament, but the New England Freezers did so in fine fashion. They hung five send half goals on the Northeast Generals to skate away with a 7-3 victory on Saturday at Foxboro Sports Center.

The Freezers got off to a good start by opening a 2-0 advantage over their foes with a goal from Ryan Watts at 9:57 and a shorthanded score from Nate Watts at 17:24. CJ Perry scored in the closing minutes of the first half to get the Generals on the board and cut their deficit in half at 2-1 at the break.

Both sides went back-and-forth to open the second as the game remained close with the Freezers leading 4-3 across the half’s midpoint. With the finish line in sight, the Freezers raced to the end, pouring in three more to put the game away and seal the victory at 7-3.

Ryan Watts finished the day factoring into five of his team’s seven goals, scoring twice and assisting on three others. Nate finished with a pair of goals to his credit. New England’s Ethan McDonough also finished with multiple points, credited with two goals and an assist.
