FOXBORO – In the first U18 Division game on the docket at the 2014 Midget Classic, the South Shore Kings shutout Advantage Ice, 6-0.
The Kings wasted little time getting on top of Advantage as Tyler Pietrzyk was credited with the game’s first goal just 1:34 after the opening face-off. Defenseman Josh St. Martin, the game’s leading scorer with three points, then came through at 5:24, upping South Shore’s lead to 2-0.
That two-goal margin lasted through the half for the Kings, but not long thereafter as Sean Evans notched the team’s third just 58-seconds into the frame. From there, the Kings lead continued to grow throughout the half as John Catania scored at 4:21, St. Martin notched his second at 10:40 and then Evans capped the 6-0 victory with the game’s final goal at 11:32.
Goaltenders Justin Slocum and Kyle Wagner combined to post the clean sheet for the Kings, credited with 21 and 15 saves, respectively.
